EDI Editor is just a nice text editor. You can view the raw EDI files, color coded and each segment on a line instead of all bunched up as a huge blob of text. That's all. It does not do anything else.

Answer:

The EDI Editor parses EDI files but only to show their structure. Each segment will be on its own line, the segment identifier will be in color and the element and sub-element separators are high-lighted.  Of course you can change the data in the file by editing and saving the file. But you need to know what you are doing. There is nothing in the EDI Editor to prevent you from making a file unusable or syntactically wrong.
