HIPAAsuite used the year 2011 to update all of its products. Not only are all of them 5010 compliant, but also they have been rewritten in Microsoft's latest .Net technology and C#.

This new platform allows us to implement shared code across the applications and to include many new features. For example TIFF or PDF image creation is now handled within the applications and no third-party software is needed. The products are in addition available in 32 and 64 bit versions and ready for the future that will certainly move towards 64 bit, just as in the early 90's computers moved from 16bit to 32 bit technology.

We are planning more exciting products this year. The next big release will be EDI Exchange. This module is now in testing and availabe so far in the HIPAA Eligibility Responder. EDI exchange handles the transport of EDI through FTP and secure FTP and supports PGP encryption either using PGP, the leading encryption software or Open PGP as cryptographic engine. Another big building block of EDI Exchange is the HIPAA EDI compliance engine. EDI files are tested for HIPAA compliance and all errors and warnings recorded. Trading Partners and their specific settings are managed as well.
