HIPAA transaction sets version 5010 are coming and HIPAAsuite will be ready for it.

The Department for Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Center for Medicaid/Medicare issues new binding guide lines regarding the implementation of a newer version of the HIPAA EDI transaction. Currently we work with version 4010A1. By 1/1/2012 everyone involved with CMS and electronic transaction in the healthcare industry has to use version 5010.

According to law, we can use 2010 to make all the programming changes. HIPAAsuite software products will be able to handle the 5010 transactions by 1/1/2011. The year 2011 is the test and conversion year and by 1/1/2012, transactions are mandated to be only in version 5010. We hope to have the 837 work to be done in early summer, 2010.

Our products will be able to handle both versions, 4010A1 and 5010 simultaneously.
