What is HIPAAsuite's strategy to obtain X12 EDI 5010 compliance?

Most of you know that the X12 organization is introducing a new standard for the electronic transactions. HIPAA started out with the 4010 version and later adopted the 4010A1 standard. Now, after 10 years, the standard has evolved and effective 1/1/2012 all HIPAA transactions have to be conducted in the 5010 version.

The law stipulates that organizations should have all the program changes in place by 12/31/2010 and use the year 2011 for user and trading partner testing.

HIPAAsuite will implement this schedule. Beginning in spring of 2010 we will first work on the 837 transaction. The HIPAA Claim Printer will be enabled to process 4010 and 5010 versions simultaneously.

By and by the other transactions will be implemented with the goal to have all the software changes doneby the end of 2010.
